5 Things Midwest Single Men Should Never Say On A Date
As the Midwest Matchmaker, I have worked with many highly-successful single men who have everything they could ever want, except for a loving partner. The reality is, those who have no trouble getting dates on their own often feel overwhelmed or frustrated that they invest time into first dates that may or may not go anywhere.
I agree that it can be nerve-wracking to put yourself out there and then find that the connection might not be there or the woman sitting across from you might be looking for more of a sugar daddy than a partner who could contribute equally to building a life together.
For those Midwest single men who have full confidence about what is wanted in love, making the right impression when meeting a compatible single woman is key to getting to the second or third date. Time and time again, many Midwest single men take the completely wrong approach to first dates and often fall into the trap of saying the wrong things. In an effort to impress the woman sitting across from you, here are a few things you should avoid saying on a first date if you truly want to make a sizzling connection.
“The Food Here Sucks”
Being positive on a first date is key. No single woman wants to listen to Midwest single men complain about how bad the food is, how poor the service might be or that the music is terrible. Holding your tongue and dropping the negativity is ideal on the first date, and, honestly, all dates. Attempt to find the good in what is around you and your overall experience. This includes the stories and details you share about your life as well.
“I Was Dating A Girl…”
With my experience working as the Midwest Matchmaker, I can assure you that the single woman with you does not want to hear about your past dates, how they want, or what you got up to. Not only does it show disinterest in your current date but it also shows how much you are internally comparing this date to your past experiences. With that said, it is suggested that you are prepared for the questions about past relationships and circumstances. “You’re Different From Other Women”
While it might appear beneficial to tell the single woman you are with that she presents herself “different from other women” this is one of those compliments that is best to keep to yourself for a handful of dates. This type of compliment out the date can make it sound like someone who lives a life of comparison as well as someone who has been on countless dates.
Midwest single men who find themselves mesmerized by how the single woman sharing time with them carries herself in conversation and thinking find a way to offer a compliment focused on uniqueness as a person versus sharing ways a woman is different from all the other women.
“She Will Have The….”
Welcome to 2021 where women often order and appreciate ordering for themselves. For those Midwest single men who are a bit old fashion and appreciate the roles of the man in the relationship, this dance might be a bit tricky out the gate. If you have just met this woman avoid deciding that you know exactly what she likes to eat or drink. If you know what’s good at the restaurant you’re dining in, you can offer suggestions, but on the first date, avoid ordering on her behalf.
